NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) measures foundational skills for Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9.
MeritVy’s comprehensive preparation program builds confidence and competency across Reading, Writing, Language Conventions, and Numeracy—ensuring students perform at their best.
Administered annually by ACARA (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority), NAPLAN provides a national snapshot of student achievement in literacy and numeracy. Results identify strengths and areas requiring support, helping parents and schools track progress effectively.
Students complete four assessments covering essential literacy and numeracy domains:

Mathematical reasoning covering operations, algebra, measurement, and data interpretation
Intensive passage analysis, vocabulary expansion, and inference training develop advanced comprehension across fiction, non-fiction, and informational texts. Timed reading sessions build the pace necessary for NAPLAN completion.
Students practise narrative and persuasive writing under timed conditions, learning quick idea generation, logical structure, and clear expression. Feedback emphasises paragraph development, vocabulary, and grammatical accuracy.
Grammar, spelling, and punctuation receive systematic attention through error identification exercises and editing practice—improving both NAPLAN performance and overall writing quality.
Comprehensive coverage of number operations, algebraic thinking, measurement, geometry, and data interpretation. Timed problem-solving builds accuracy and efficiency, with emphasis on word problems and multi-step reasoning.
Students complete regular mock tests under authentic NAPLAN conditions, familiarising themselves with assessment format, timing, and question styles. Mock tests provide objective performance data, identifying specific areas requiring reinforcement while building stamina for sustained concentration. Results track improvement systematically, ensuring readiness for test day.
Maximum 10 students per class ensures personalised attention during preparation. Classes operate primarily in-centre at MeritVy Learning Centres with online flexibility when needed. Parents track progress through the MeritVy Parent App with mock test results and instructor observations.
